Abstract: This paper briefly introduces the concept of association standards, the position and scope of the association standards of the China Railway Society (CRS) considering the needs of the standardization technical committees of CRS and the working groups undertaking the drafting tasks. This paper also provides a detailed study on these CRS standards in terms of the management modes, classification, stages of formulation and composition of documents, as well as the workflows and rules of drafting different types of standards, offering  positive guidance to the professionals involved in the drafting and preparation of CRS association standards and in standardization.
