Abstract: By comparing Directives for standardization--Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents (GB/T 1.1-2020) and Regulations on the preparation of engineering construction standards (JB [2008] No. 182), the latter of which is developed by the former Ministry of Construction of the People’s Republic of China, this paper analyzes and explicates the differences between the drafting rules of equipment technical standards and engineering construction standards in terms of the drafting stages, structures, names and text preparation of these standards, hoping to provide writers of such documents with a clearer description of the methods for compiling different types of standards, so as to improve the standardization and accuracy of drafting.
