Abstract: The equipment renewal and retrofitting on existing lines of urban rail transit has become a key focus of industry development. However, there is a lack of corresponding policies and guiding documents for various electromechanical systems. Firstly, this paper introduces the current situation and equipment composition of the automatic fare collection system of the existing lines, analyzes its development trend, and determines its service requirements in terms of equipment upgrading and retrofitting. Then, on the basis of the industry-leading technologies and actual operational needs, it proposes specific renewal and retrofitting items, such as architecture update, module updates, layout update, and equipment type updates. Finally, from the perspectives of technical standards and resource integration, it proposes the implementation strategy for system renewal and retrofitting. The proposed renewal and retrofitting strategy can provide some reference for the renewal and retrofitting work of the automatic fare collection system on existing lines of urban rail transit.
