Abstract: This paper analyzes the waterproof requirements of the switch machine on main line of passenger dedicated line and subway tunnel, and analyzes the water inlet part of switch machine based on immersion test of the existing ZD (J) 9 switch machine. The waterproof performance of switch machine is improved from the action rod, the detection rod, the joint between the cover and the bottom shell, the shell hole and shaft connection. The dust-proof and sealed ZD (J) 9 electric switch machine with optimized waterproof performance is designed. The protection grade of switch machine can reach IP67M after the third party test. The ZD (J) 9 electric switch machine of dust-proof and sealing type meets the use requirements after the trial assembly of five traction switches. The ZD (J) 9 electric switch machine with dust-proof and sealing is easy to be installed on the left and right when it is used on site, which means that the gap adjustment is simple and the sealing protection structure at the rod is easy to be replaced.
