Research on New Generation of Train Control Communication System Based on 5G Technology

The requirements for intelligent train control systems of the new generation of high-speed railways make the train-ground communication data richer and more diverse than before, and there are requirements for safer and more reliable data transmission and for lower delays. The original train control communication system based on GSM cannot meet the new requirements, so it is necessary to develop a new generation of train control communication system based on 5G technology. In this paper, a 5G-R communication system is studied, a new onboard radio based on embedded system is designed, and the structure, composition and interface of ground network system are proposed. The protocol encapsulation/de-encapsulation and the interface transmission process of service data in the whole train-ground transmission process are analyzed in detail, and the adaptability of the new generation of train control communication system to meet the requirements of future train-ground communication is expounded, which lays a communication foundation for intelligent train control for high-speed railways.

An AFC system directly serves the vast number of passengers, and its operation status is directly related to the level of operation safety and services. Intelligent operation and maintenance is of great significance to the system. Firstly, this paper analyzes the connotation of the intelligent operation and maintenance of AFC systems, analyzes the problems existing in the operation and maintenance of the current AFC system, and points out the necessity and urgency of the intelligent operation and maintenance of AFC systems.Then, the functions of the service scenario of intelligent operation and maintenance are analyzed, and the design scheme of an AFC intelligent operation and maintenance system is given from two aspects: the design of system architecture and of service architecture.Finally, this paper puts forward suggestions on the application and implementation of the intelligent operation and maintenance system from two aspects: network standards, and operation and maintenance ideas.The AFC intelligent operation and maintenance system can effectively improve the level of operation and management and reduce their costs, which are the inevitable results of intelligent management.

By strengthening the information interaction coordination and comprehensive linkage between the system, equipment, locomotive and crossing, the overall efficiency is brought into play to realize the comprehensive safety supervision of crossing.

In this paper, aiming at the current situation for the difficult and complicated artificial fault diagnosis of ZPW-2000A track circuit, according to its common faults, the causes and modes of faults are analyzed, and the fault diagnosis of ZPW-2000A track circuit is discussed by using several techniques of artificial intelligence theory, such as expert system, artificial neural network, and fuzzy theory.

The track circuit is one of the important signaling equipment to monitor the idle rail line and reflect the train operation. In application of 25 Hz track circuit, the red light strap fault, especially the flashing red fault, which is easily affected by the change of the equipment characteristics and the interference of the external environment, is very difficult to deal with in an emergency, and interferes greatly with the normal transportation order. This paper makes an analysis and discussion on how to deal with the faults of 25 Hz track circuit, making full use of monitoring, adjustment and analysis combined with frequency shift meter, and adopting the method of combining voltage method with current method to rapidly and effectively handle the red light strap fault in track circuit.

Train number is an important basic information for Centralized Traffic Control System to realize dispatching, train running tracking, automatic time collection, automatic arrangement of routes, wireless route announcement and wireless dispatching commands, which shall be timely and accurate. Based on research on train number technique for CTC, this paper analyzes the display of train number, the setting of train number window, the source and priority of train number, the data structure and data flow of train number, and the working principle of train number, and puts forward a proposal for optimizing the priority of train number, which solves the problem of cross-office turn-back and train number tracking among different equipment suppliers, effectively avoids the error of train number tracking and improves the accuracy of train number tracking.

Machine learning has many theoretical researches and applications in turnout fault detection and diagnosis technology because of its advantages such as adaptive processing of large amounts of data, realization of intelligent classification and prediction. This paper classifies and sorts out data-based turnout fault diagnosis algorithms, and focuses on the feature extraction and data-based modeling methods, which have certain guiding significance for the selection and application of machine learning algorithms. Finally, by analyzing the current research status of turnouts in prognostics and health management, the application of machine learning in the field of turnout fault prognostics and health management is prospected.

This paper starts with the classification of the EU railway standards, outlines the background, history and composition of TSI and introduces the TSI directive and rules, clarifies the position of CCS TSI in the EU railway standards by top-down and step-by-step breakdown. It also analyzes the composition of different ERTMS baselines and three versions of ERTMS baselines and studies the main evolution and development trend of baseline 3 maintenance release 1 to baseline 3 release 2, and provides technical advice for signaling system adopting EU railway standards.

This paper aims to explore the use of 5G technology that has achieved breakthroughs in core technologies and products to make it possible to apply autonomous driving in freight stations. It introduces in detail the construction plan, specific technical standards and applications of the 5G-based network system for the application of autonomous driving in freight stations. Through the introduction and analysis of the construction plan of this 5G-based network system, it can be demonstrated that the system is an effective autonomous driving system that ensures the safety of freight transportation and is worthy of extensive application in railway systems nationwide.

The technologies for dynamic optimization function of metro fleet composition include physical coupling/decoupling technologies and virtual coupling/decoupling technologies. This paper focuses on the study on physical coupling/decoupling technologies, providing a relevant signaling system solution. Based on the analysis of the operation requirements, this paper presents the target of physical coupling and decoupling functions, and introduces the coupling and decoupling processes. Meanwhile, it also discusses the methods for realizing such key technologies as coupling speed control, train interface, location report transmission mechanism, and the switchover of the leading end of a newly coupled train, taking into consideration the CBTC features for interoperability.

The construction standards of conventional and high speed railways are different, and the coverage schemes of 5G-R are also different. Aiming at different scenarios such as conventional railway and high speed railway, this paper studies the networking scheme of 5G-R wireless access network in tunnel and non-tunnel areas along the railway lines, respectively analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the two schemes with and without bridge, and proposes the scheme for reference for railway 5G-R network planning.

In the case of virtual coupling without actual physical connection, multiple trains can form a logical unit virtually coupled through cooperative control to realize joint train control and dispatching. Based on the traditional CBTC system, this paper introduces the virtual coupling application in the CBTC system, and analyzes key technologies and the architecture of CBTC system using virtual coupling. The virtual coupling application in the CBTC system makes the operation more flexible and can greatly shorten the train operation interval. The research of virtual coupling provides ideas and references for future train control system.

From the perspective of signaling system, this paper analyzes the influencing factors of turn-back interval of turn-back stations, studies the optimization scheme of improving turn-back capacity of turn-back stations, and puts forward specific measures such as optimizing the running time of train entering the station and entering & leaving the turning track, shortening turn-back end-changing time, and improving the operation proficiency of operators. Through practical engineering application and field test, the optimization scheme is verified, and the target of 2 minutes minimum operation interval and 10% margin for signaling system under typical station is realized.

The distributed capacitance increases with the turnout control distance becoming longer, and the accumulation of capacitance has a great impact on the normal operation of turnout indication relay. Through the theoretical analysis of the causes of the formation of distributed capacitance, the factors affecting the distributed capacitance are obtained, and the methods to reduce and solve the distributed capacitance in engineering application are put forward. It has positive significance to improve the reliability of AC turnout control circuit.

For the existing railway GSM-R system project, due to the shortage of project funds, the complexity of the existing situation and other factors, the difficulty of engineering design is often greater than that of the newly-built railway. Taking the Beijing-Harbin Railway GSM-R system project of China Railway Beijing Group as an example, this paper formulates targeted solutions to the special problems of the existing railway, in particular, the outdoor integrated cabinet has been widely used in trunk railways for the first time, which has the benefits of industry demonstration and application promotion, and provides reference for the subsequent projects.

Speech interactive technology is of great significance to improve the intelligent service level of rail transit. In the fully automatic operation system, the depot is configured with the same equipment as that of the signal equipment station of the mainline, so as to realize the ATP/ATO function and ATS monitoring function at CBTC level in the automatic control area of the depot; the test track is equipped with indoor and outdoor signal equipment which is the same as that of the mainline, so as to perform tests on functions related to the fully automatic operation of on-board signal equipment. Based on the signal composition and functional requirements of the depot and test track of the automatic operation system, this paper proposes a scheme to extend the control range of the indoor signal equipment in the depot to the test track, and the indoor signal equipment in the depot can fulfill the commissioning and test functions and monitor the outdoor signal equipment of the test track. The framework and design principle are emphasized.
