A time-velocity-position model (TVP model) is proposed to describe train operation status and trajectory in a more accurate way together with an analysis of the characteristics of the model. This model combines the advantages of the time-position model for train graphs and the position-speed model for train control. Based on the multiple-particle model of a train, the boundary and characteristics of the safe area, the reachable area and the cooperative area related to the train particles are identified, and the range of the safe and reachable area is determined. The applicable fields of the model are summarized in terms of transportation organization, dispatching command, operation control and the integration of control and dispatching.

In a high salinity and high humidity environment, the corrosion of trackside electrical equipment is serious, which poses great potential danger to signal transmission and traffic safety. In this study, through examining high salinity and high humidity tunnel environment, quantifying the environmental indicators in the tunnel and analyzing the results of tunnel environmental assessment, the environmental spectrum of accelerated corrosion test is formulated, accelerated salt spray test is conducted in the laboratory, the weight loss ratio of experimental samples is selected to characterize the degree of corrosion, and the corrosion prediction method is studied combined with corrosion kinetics evaluation method. This study provides a basis and direction for corrosion prediction and protection of trackside metal equipment in subsea tunnels.

The paper presents a long-flag hash algorithm in compliance with two applicable long-flag standards by analyzing long-flag process differences in railway signal products of RBC, TSRS and TCC. The algorithm aims at obtaining all key parameters with the configuration of the least amount of site data, in order to facilitate long-flag calculation to free railway product developers from handling long-flag processes. When persons in charge of the configuration of site data set long-flag site data with this algorithm, the high error rate and big impact on existing site data will be reduced (the problems are caused by the differences in long-flag logic processes of various products). The paper also proposes further applications of the algorithm in site data processing.

The overall technical architecture of railway cloud data center is proposed on the basis of comprehensively studying the status quo, the evolution dilemma of railway information development and the technology of cloud computing platform, taking into consideration the overall planning of information technology in China. The advantages of railway data based on cloud computing technology are elaborated. The key technologies involved are explained, namely hyper-convergence technology and network topology technology. Based on the planning and construction of railway cloud data center, the paper discusses four points in detail, namely resource planning at IaaS layer, the creation of cloud management platform, the design of network architecture and dual-active disaster recovery of the cloud platform. The paper provides theoretical basis and technical support for the planning, design and construction of railway cloud data center, and also provides important ideas for construction and laboratory data support for the implementation of follow-up projects.

In order to quantify the effect of product technical improvement on railway customer satisfaction degree (CSD), this paper presents the railway customer satisfaction index (RCSI) model based on the telecom customer satisfaction index (TCSI) model, and presents the structural equation modeling (SEM) expansions of RCSI. Quality perception and value perception are the main factors affecting CSD. On the basis of the RCSI model, the paper quantifies the effect on CSD of the following factors of the integrated communication platform: security, reliability, operation and maintenance efficiency and price.

This paper studies the application architecture of cloud platform and the types and division of the services provided by the platform, and puts forward feasible plans for establishing rail transit cloud platform. Combined with cloud construction of the cloud platform of line/network control center, the paper proposes that centralized management and unified coordination need to be performed at the network level to manage services of each line, each professional system and each construction and resource operation project, and that analysis and application of the services need to be coordinated at the network level. This solution replaces the traditional interface relationship between each system, providing better support for networking. At the same time, the cloud architecture of the line/network traffic control system is analyzed based on the application of the cloud platform, and it is proposed to use a virtualization platform to support service systems. The application server and history server are both deployed on the cloud platform, and the dispatching workstation adopts the cloud desktop architecture, which provides a good example of service application at the line/network level.

This paper expounds several implementation methods and technical characteristics of wireless trackside data transmission. Research is carried out on the application of UWB information transmission methods in freight train-ground information transmission, with focus on the composition of the main equipment of freight trains, wireless passive sensing and monitoring components, trackside data base stations and ground-based monitoring and diagnosis hosts. UWB transmitter modules and UWB base station modules are provided for the trackside data base stations designed with DWM1000 integrated chips as the core. Such modules, which adopt LEACH protocol algorithm, work with a hierarchical routing protocol. The method of periodically selecting cluster head nodes at random can reduce node energy consumption while prolonging the lifetime of the entire network. Data transmission can be completed within the time needed for a train to move pass a trackside base station at high speed.

In a complex environment with serious interference, e.g. in a tunnel, the positioning accuracy of the least square method (LS) is low. In this paper, a BP neural network location algorithm combined with least square is studied. Firstly, the least square method is used to determine the position based on the time difference of arrival (TDOA) in UWB system, and then the measured value of TDOA is modified according to the initial position obtained by the LS method. The modified TDOA is used by the BP neural network to get final location results. The simulation results show that the influence of NLOS (non-line-of-sight) is reduced and the accuracy of the proposed LS-BP method is greatly improved compared with that of the LS method. The proposed LS-BP method can be applied to handle errors in certain different environments.

Impedance transformers have the advantages of simple structure, high reliability, simple installation, small maintenance workload and remarkable anti-interference effect. They have been widely used in the integrated track circuits of passenger dedicated railways. However, the track circuit equipment is affected by material failures, traction return currents and external factors. When dealing with red-light straps of track circuits, the delay in troubleshooting is often long and the causes are often unclear. This paper analyzes and summarizes the common faults in the impedance transformers in the track circuits of passenger dedicated railways, taking common potential dangers of the impedance transformers as examples.
